White Fang Mahjong is a site dedicated to provide the best reference in English covering Riichi Mahjong (the modern Japanese variant) with one constraint: have the most extensive resources available without delving into obscure rules, useless exceptions or one-upping* other sources claiming too be the know-all and end-all of Mahjong.
As such, this site will be discussing solely the Japanese version, and unless explicitly mentionned, the most common Ari-Ari (Yes-Yes) rules, with other variant rules explained apart from the general discussion. Others have taken to bash the basics, ignore them out of innocence or malice, or to outright complain “that the rules suck but I want to play Japanese Mahjong anyways”. We don’t do that here and will not entertain people who do beyond this About page. There are plenty of places to vent, but Mahjong websites are increasingly becoming less tolerant of people who forget to think before speaking.
Having said that, comments can be summarily deleted for a zillion reasons, this being one of them.
About the Webmaster

He knows that he can help others learn the game without pretending to know more than others who have invested appreciable effort at understanding the advanced theories behind the game.
